James "Jim" Ernest Ladig, 76, of Westside Drive Extension, died Monday, July 10, 2006, at Lexington Memorial Hospital.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Forest Hill Memorial Park by the Rev. Billy Pearson Jr.
Mr. Ladig was born July 1, 1930, in Conneaut County, Ohio, to John Joseph Ladig and Iva Vandella Bricker Ladig. He was a retired insurance agent with Western-Southern. He retired from the U.S. Army after serving 20 years, with a tour in Korea and two tours in Vietnam, and received the Purple Heart.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Myers Barnhill Ladig of the home; one stepson, the Rev. and Mrs. Craig Barnhill of Lexington; one daughter, Jenny Marie O'Toole of Lancaster, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Rita Huff and her husband, Jeff, of Lexington and Brenda Barnhill of the home; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of the Rev. and Mrs. Craig Barnhill, 132 Briggs Road.
