James “Jim” Benjamin Watson, 57, of Hunters Path Court, died Tuesday, October 01, 2013, at Forsyth Medical Center.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Emmanual Wesleyan Church, where he was a member, with Pastor Ed Chriscoe officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Mr. Watson was born October 8, 1955, in Catawba County, to Benjamin Long Watson and Carrie Hollifield Watson. He was a maintenance employee at Stanly Furniture.
Surviving are his wife, Donna Moses Watson of the home; sons, Ashley Barret Reid and wife Carrie of Hickory and Andrew Scott Watson; daughters, Kerri Raquel Guerra and husband Roderick of Lexington and Gwen “Sissy” Mitchem and husband Jason of Hickory; grandchildren, Dominick Corrales, Kayley Guerra, Lillian Reid and Ella Reid; brothers, David Watson and wife Paula, Eric Watson and wife Tammy, all of Hickory and Ronnie Watson and partner Barry Walker of Asheville; and sisters, Debbie McKinnon of Greensboro, Joan Mason and husband Danny of Hickory and Mary Sue Fields and husband Frank of Morganton.
