James “Jimmy” Richard Hayden, 61 of Jarvis Road, Lexington, NC; died Thursday evening at Lexington Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.
Mr. Hayden was born Nov. 23, 1944 in Nelson County, ND to Albert Hayden and Olga Ramsey Hayden. He attended Devil’s Lake School for the Deaf in Devil’s Lake, North Dakota. Mr. Hayden loved and was very active in his church. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Richard Hayden.
He is survived by a son, Danny Joe Hayden of Morganton; two daughters: Darlene Newton and husband John and Peggy Belcher of Morganton; his mother, Olga Amanda Hagen; eight grandchildren; a brother, Roger Hayden of Whiteville; five sisters, Carol Shuman and husband Lindy and Janet Hinson both of Whiteville; Eileen Holcomb and husband Raymond of Gwinner, ND; Linda Crawford and husband Roland of Fargo, ND; and Patti Brecto of Ulen, MN.
The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, January 30, 2006 at First Baptist Church of Welcome where he was a member, by Rev. Mark Blair. The burial will be at 4:00 PM Monday at Columbus Memorial Park in Whiteville, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME LEXINGTON CHAPEL and at other times at the home at 225 Jarvis Road.
