James Dwight Jones, 67, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, April 26, 2024. A visitation with family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 30th from 6-8pm at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington.
Born in Davidson County, NC on October 14, 1956, to Roy Clay Jones and Molly Webb Jones, James was a proud native of his community. He dedicated many years of service as a plumber at Callicutt Reality. Outside of work, James found solace in the tranquility of fishing, a pastime he cherished dearly.
James was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Elenor Driver, Jason “Jay” Jones and Clay Jones, but his memory lives on through his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Shelby, his sons Raymond (Melissa), Brian (Bridget), Toby (Laranda), and his daughter Jessica, all of Lexington. He is also survived by his brothers R.J. (Debbie) of Cooleemee, Chucky of Salisbury, Michael (Karrie) of Mocksville, and his sisters Geraldine (Chris) of Trinity and Elizabeth of South Carolina. James leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter in the hearts of his 17 grandchildren and special grandchild, Kylee Ann Jones.
