James Jones Jr., 76, beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on September 3, 2026, in Davidson County.
James was born on June 5, 1950, in McDowell County to the late James ‘Jim’ E. Jones Sr. and Sylvia O’Dear Tanner. Throughout his life, James was known for his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to serving others. He proudly worked as a pharmacist for approximately 30 years at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, where his professionalism and devotion to his work touched the lives of many.
Above all, James treasured his family. He found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved and creating lasting memories together. One of his favorite family traditions was vacationing at Myrtle Beach, where he enjoyed relaxing, laughing, and making memories with his family.
James was preceded in death by his parents, James ‘Jim’ E. Jones Sr. and Sylvia O’Dear Tanner; and his brother, Ronnie Jones.
He leaves behind his beloved wife, Susana “Susan” Caridad Jones; his son, Mark Jones; his brothers, Lynn Jones, and Jerold Jones and wife Lena; his sisters, Tammy Jones Bailey and husband Lloyd Jr., and Sherry Collins and husband Roger; as well as his nephew, Reagan Bailey, and niece, Rylan Bailey.
James will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, his dedication to his profession, his love of family, and the many memories he created with those closest to him.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 7, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home of Winston-Salem.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate James’s life will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Davidson Funeral Home Winston-Salem Chapel. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park in Marion, NC.
