James “Jim” Raymond Latham, age 61 of Shallotte Avenue, Winston Salem passed away Monday (March 1, 2010) at VA Medical Center in Salisbury. Memorial service will be held 2:30 pm Saturday at Beulah United Church of Christ, where he was a member with Rev. David Purdy and Jack Stoner officiating. Following the service, inurnment in church cemetery, followed by a time of reflection in the fellowship hall of the church.
Jim was born in Davidson County, April 26, 1948, to the late Edgar Ray Latham, Jr. and Elsie Fleming Latham. He was a Venture Capitalist and Advisor and a licensed North Carolina Mortgage Loan Officer. He was a veteran of the US Army during Vietnam and served CINCPAC, Four Star Admiral, John McCain in Hawaii.
Surviving are; one son, James C-F Latham and wife Amy of Belmont; one grandson, Ian B. Latham; mother of our son, Judy Latham of Charlotte; three sisters, J. Renee Everhart, Joy Chandler and husband Rory and Jamie Loman and husband Ronald all of Lexington; two brothers, June Latham and John Latham and wife Carolyn all of Lexington; six nieces, two nephews and a host of other family.
