James Lewis Ledbetter, 74, of Tyro Road, Lexington, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at his home.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Randall Foster officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park, with military graveside rites by the District 11 Memorial Honor Guard.
Mr. Ledbetter was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Burke County and was raised in Glen Alpine and was a graduate of Glen Alpine High School. He was a retired district supervisor for the Farmers Home Administration, and implemented farm and housing loans and grants for many Davidson County residents. Upon retirement from the federal government, he worked at Shugart Enterprises in Winston-Salem for 11 years. Mr. Ledbetter was also a licensed real-estate broker and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved landscaping, his family and his five cats.
Surviving are his fiancee, Cynthia D. Frank of the home; a son, Phillip M. Frank of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Wendy Grubb and husband Rusty of Lexington; and a grandchild, Tyler Grubb.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
