James L. Walser, age 88 of Martin Avenue Lexington, passed away Friday evening at
Hinkle Hospice House. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday (6-01-2009) in Davidson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. Charles R. Yarborough, Jr. and Rev. Jeff Walser officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Mr. Walser was born in Davidson County, February 21, 1921 to Zeb Lester Walser and Emma Everhart Walser. He was a member Christ Reformed Church, and a retired employee of Hennis Freight Lines. A veteran of World War II US Navy, member of Amvets Post 13 and American Legion Post 8. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Pauline Walser on December 10, 2001 and a sister Dorothy Dunn.
Surviving are: son, Ronnie Walser and wife Dorothy of Lexington; two daughters, Keith James and Tonya Throckmorton both of Lexington; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Frankie Ballew, Betty Rose Robbins and Mildred Leonard all
of Lexington.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Sunday night from 6 until 8 pm
and at other times at the home of son Ronnie Walser, 241 Martin Avenue, Lexington
