James Calvin Lollis Sr.

James Calvin Lollis, Sr., age 94 of Westside Drive, Lexington passed away Monday afternoon at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ray Howell, 3rd officiating. Burial will follow in Lexington City Cemetery. Mr. Lollis was born in Greenville, SC, September 4, 1913 to Enoch Tillman Lollis and Mettie Rogers Lollis. He was the retired Physical Director of the Lexington YMCA where he was employed from 1959 until his retirement in 1979. He was a member of the International Association of Retired Directors of YMCA and a member of First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Mary Parrott Lollis who died January 27, 2007 and sisters, Kathryn Aug and Martha Bennett also preceded him in death. He is survived by: three sons, James C. Lollis, Jr. of Olathe, Kansas; John E. Lollis and wife Lynnette of Lexington and Joel P. Lollis and friend, Tava Chiba of Charlotte, NC, four grandchildren; Justin Matthew Lollis and fiancée Brandi Kirkus; Courtney Leighanne Lollis, Lynnsey Brieanna Lollis and Katherine (Katie) Lollis.
