James Franklin Loman, age 82 of Burler Street, Lexington died Tuesday in Lexington Memorial Hospital after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Friday at Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. James Messer officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC
Mr. Loman was born February 10, 1926 in Davidson County to James Franklin Loman, Sr. and Fannie Power Loman. A retired employee of Frank IX & Sons, he was a member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army having served during WWII. Preceding him in death were 3 brothers, James Carl Loman, Lonnie Loman, Grady Loman, and a sister, Addie Mae Marion.
Surviving are his wife, of 60 years, Myrtle Milam Loman of the home; a son, Randy Loman and wife Crystal of Lexington; daughters, Becky Haralson and husband, Gene, Shirley Blevins, Frankie Gail Hayes and husband, Ronnie, Tammy Tetter and husband, Jeff all of Lexington, Cathy Carter and husband, Lynn of Julian, NC; 12 grandchildren, Maria Newton, Cindy Beasley, Angel Berry, Ron Hayes, Tony Hayes, Robert Freeman, Amber Foster, David Carter, Jeremy Loman, Miranda Loman, Matthew Tetter, April Causey, and 10 great grandchildren and a brother, Connie Loman of Lexington
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME and other times at the home, 103 Burler Street.
