James Fields Lord

James Fields Lord, age 77 of South NC Highway 150, Lexington passed away Wednesday (September 29, 2010) at Hinkle Hospice House.  Memorial service will be held 4:00 pm Friday (October 1, 2010) at Churchland Baptist Church with Rev. Ray Nance Howell, IV officiating.  Burial will be private.   There will be no public visitation, however the family will be at their residence.   Fields was born in Davidson County, May 10, 1933 to L. G. Lord and Fannie Lou Fields Lord.  He was a member of Churchland Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing and playing the piano.  He formerly played and sang with The Carolinians Quartet.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Hostell Lord.   Surviving are; his wife of 55 years Mary Helen Davis Lord of the home; one daughter, Pamela Ann Phipps and husband Gayle of Lexington; one son, David Benjamin Lord and wife Janice of Linwood; four grandchildren, Josh, Tiffanie and Kacie Lord and Taylor Phipps; one sister, Sybil Carolyn Ham of Lexington.   In lieu of flowers memorials should be directed to Churchland Baptist Church, General Fund, 7516 South NC Highway 150, Lexington, NC  27295 or to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC  27292.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
