James Elbert Mitchell

  James Elbert Mitchell, age 87 of Garland Drive, Lexington passed away Sunday morning (September 5, 2010) at Lexington Memorial Hospital.  Graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday (September 8, 2010) at Forest Hill Memorial Park, with Rev. James Messer officiating.   There will be no visitation.   James was born in Johnston County, NC April 20, 1923 to James Paul Mitchell and Martha Jane Worley Mitchell.  He was a retired employee of Carolina Panel and of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Clyde Jones, Lila Medlin and Elsie Mitchell; two brothers, James and Melvin Mitchell.   Surviving are; two daughters, Brenda McLamb of Lillington, NC and Linda Jordan of Dunn, NC; four sons, Lonnie Mitchell and wife Martha, Marshall Mitchell and wife Vanessa, James Mitchell all of Lexington and Earl Mitchell and wife Retha of Rose Hill, NC; 15 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elgie Mitchell and Nellie Capps both of Kenly, NC; two brothers, Paul and Bill Mitchell of Kenly, NC.   Arrangements by Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington.     Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
