Lamonds was a true outdoorsman at heart. He found joy in fishing, grilling, working on race cars, and—above all—spending time with his family. A lifelong racing enthusiast, Lamonds proudly spent time working as part of the pit crew for Ralph Brinkley, a role that reflected both his mechanical skill and his deep love for race cars.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Rita Everhart Pearson; his daughter, Amy Pearson Hughes (Jimmy); and his four cherished grandchildren: Victoria Haynes (Dylan), Jamie Lowe (Camille), Jessica Reimakoski (Chase), and Elizabeth Dominguez (Danny). He is also survived by his stepbrothers, Everett Pearson and Jimmy Green (Cathy); his sister, Theresea Surratt (Cubby); his son-in-law, Jim Lowe (Tracy); his brother-in-law, Duke VanDeYacht; many extended grandchildren; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his cherished fur baby Little Bit.

A visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home of Lexington. A funeral service to honor Lamonds will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., also at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington, with burial to follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Lamonds will be remembered for his generous heart, his love of the outdoors and racing, and his deep devotion to his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
