James W. Penland, 66, of Friendship Church Road, died Friday, September 3, 2021.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on September 11 th at North Lexington Baptist Church with Pastor Gavin Pratt and Dr. Robert Floyd officiating. Burial will follow at North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church and other times at the home.
James was born September 8, 1954 in Forsyth County to Grady Haywood Penland and Betty Weeks Lane. He retired from PPG and was a member of North Lexington Baptist Church. James was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Earl Greeson Sr. and stepfather-in-law, John Yountz.
Surviving are his wife, Renee Greeson Penland, of the home; sons, Adam Penland, Lane Penland (Heather), David Penland (Kayla), all of Lexington; daughter, Sarah Penland, sister, Martha Sizemore; mother-in-law, Nancy Louise Yountz, and grandchildren, Chloe Grubb, Abigail Penland, Jaxson Penland, Matthew James, Dixie Lee, Dolly Lynn, Nathan Levi, Daisy Louise and Caleb Michael Penland.
