James (Peppie) Edward Williams, 80, of Lexington passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018 at his home.
A funeral service will be 4:00 pm Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Pastor Norman Mahan and burial to follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will see friends from 6-8 pm Friday night at the funeral home and at other times at the home.
Mr. Williams was born January 7, 1938 in Rowan County to Dewey Edward Williams and Rosa Potts Williams. He retired from LFI. His parents, daughter, Rosa Marie Williams, sisters, Mamie Beam and Argie Lee Williams all preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Nancy Oakley Williams of the home; sons, Jesse James Williams (Charlene) and Donald Ray Williams (Marsha) all of Lexington, Kevin Dale Williams (Frances) of Kernersville, Benji Dean Williams (Jennifer) of Longs, S.C. and Lee Franklin Williams of Missouri; step son, Jamie Moore (Brenda) of Linwood; step daughter, Victoria Moore of Reidsville; also surviving are his brothers, Ray Williams (Eleanor) and John Williams (Effie) all of Lexington; sisters, Evelyn Wood of Lexington, Brenda Ross (Malcolm) of Cheaspeake, VA., Margaret Kreemer (Richard) of Louisiana; three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren, and his four-legged companion, Lady.
