James Perkins, 58, of Fairview Drive, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at his residence.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Life Tabernacle Pentecostal Church in Archdale, where he was a member, by the Rev. Bryan Adkins. Burial will be in Lexington City Cemetery.
Mr. Perkins was born Jan. 12, 1948, in Russell County, Va., to Lance and Ada Marie Hess Perkins. He was formerly employed with Design Masters in High Point. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Robert Perkins.
Surviving are his wife, Shelby White Perkins of the home; two sons, James Richard Perkins and his wife, Lisa, of Lexington and Terry Perkins of Columbus, Ohio; three daughters, Jamie Leeann Blackwell and her husband, J.D., of High Point, Monica Byerly and her husband, Brandon, of Lexington and Melissa Brumbaugh of Columbus, Ohio; 15 grandchildren; one brother, Bill Perkins of Bucyrus, Ohio; and three sisters, Helen Hubbard and Judy Dye of Swords Creek, Va., and Della Tatum of Pounding Mill, Va.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 Wednesday at the church and other times at the home.
Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.
