James Francis Rozek

July 9, 1957 — February 2, 2026

Lexington

James Francis Rozek, 68, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 2, 2026, at his residence in Davidson County.

James was born on July 9, 1957, in Jamestown, New York, to the late Francis Rozek and Elenor Agnes Kolczynski Rozek. He was raised in the close-knit community of Jamestown, where he resided on James Street and built the foundation of a life marked by hard work, humor, and devotion to those he loved.

James was well known for his dad-jokes and his playful way of picking with others just to make them smile or laugh. He was a hardworking and dedicated man, a true jack of all trades who could fix, build, or figure out just about anything. He found peace in yardwork, took pride in his classic cars, and enjoyed the simple pleasures of a job done well.

After meeting his significant other, Sandra, James discovered a love for traveling, creating memories together that he deeply cherished. He was one of the biggest Buffalo Bills fans, faithfully watching every game and cheering on his team with unwavering loyalty. James also found a special sense of family and belonging as a member of Holly Grove Lutheran Church, where he formed lasting friendships. He also loved spending time with his closest friends “the usual suspects.”

An avid animal lover, James held a special place in his heart for cats, whose companionship brought him great comfort and joy. Above all else, James was deeply devoted to and cherished his significant other, Sandra, who was the love of his life. Since meeting Sandra, together they grew a strong, loving family in North Carolina—one built on laughter, devotion, and shared joy.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Matthew Rozek.

He is survived by his significant other of 11 years, Sandra Fine Vaughn; his step-daughter, Stephanie Hearn (Wesley Seaford); and his beloved grandchildren: Abigail Hearn, Jacob Hearn, Wilson Hearn, Jackson Seaford, Mason Seaford, and Smith Seaford, all of whom brought him immense pride and happiness.

A graveside service to honor James’s life will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Holly Grove Lutheran Church, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Visitation will take place one hour prior, starting at 2:00 p.m., at same location.

In lieu of flowers, memorials and donations may be made to the Davidson County Humane Society, 1120 Piedmont Drive, Lexington, NC 27295.

James will be remembered for his humor, his generous heart, his unwavering devotion to family, and the countless smiles he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
