James Stanley Shaw, age 68, of Denton, NC passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington, NC. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington, NC with Preacher Clyde Akers officiating. Entombment will follow in the Forest Hill Memorial Park mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Davidson Funeral Home. Mr. Shaw was born on February 16, 1948 in Davidson County to Baron and Minnie Shaw. He served his country in the United States Army, and was a lifetime member of VFW post 3074. Mr. Shaw graduated from Davidson County Community College and was a former machine operator for United Furniture Company. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Faye Shaw. Surviving are his son, Chris Shaw (Amy) of Lexington, NC; three daughters, Cynthia Saucier (Ken), Tammy King (Chris), and Pamela Shaw; one brother, Paul Bernice Shaw of Asheboro, NC; two sisters, Patricia Cranford (Russell) of Lexington, NC, and Alice Faye Newman of Lexington, NC; eight grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
