James Harold Smith

March 11, 1936 — November 6, 2017

                                 James Harold Smith of Numa Byerly Road in Lexington passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017, at his home.   Service will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017, at 2:00 pm in the Davidson Funeral Home Chapel in Lexington with Pastor Raymond Lamb officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive family and friends from 1 to 2 pm prior to the service and other times at the home, 536 Numa Byerly Road, Lexington.   James was born on March 11, 1936 to James Walter Smith and Geneva Ison Smith in Lee County, Virginia.  He worked for 30 years at Wellington Hall Furniture as a color technician and was also a holiness minister for many years.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Charles Edward Smith, Kenneth Jack Smith, and sisters; Phyllis Ann Edens and Juanita Joan Jones.   Surviving are his loving wife, Ruby Lamb Smith of the home, daughters Diane Beck and husband Bobby, and Karen Smith and partner Matt Stamey of Lexington, as well as 6 grandchildren; Daniel, Will, Jennifer, Kayla, (Kevin), Keegan and Ian, and 4 great-grandchildren; Leland, Tristan, Ciara and Taylor.   Donations can be made to Hospice of Davidson County.   Online condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
