James “Jim” Knox Teague Jr., 85, of Lexington, passed away December 30, 2021, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton.
A celebration of his life will be held at 3 pm Monday, January 3, 2022, at Hedrick’s Grove Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery, where he was a member, with the Rev. William Sowers officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the graveside service with a drive-by visitation under the church portico. Family has requested anyone attending the graveside wear a face covering. Mr. Teague was born February 23, 1936, in Davidson County, to James Knox Teague Sr and Mary Pauline Bailey Teague. Jim was a devoted member of the church and the church choir for many years. He was a veteran of the US Army National Guard. He Graduated from the University of NC at Chapel Hill, was a retired general contractor, and was a devoted Tarheel fan. He loved fly-fishing and the outdoors. His passion was his faith, church, family and especially his grandchildren. Jim was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Smith Teague who died March 16, 2015, and a sister, Vicky Redmond.
Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Sarah Williams and husband Duane and Evelyn Johnson and husband Jack, both of Lexington; grandchildren, Eva and Anlie Williams and Jay and Cole Johnson, brother, Reginald Teague wife Delores of Salisbury; and sister, Suzie Frazier husband Don of Fl.; and many special friends and extended family members.
