James Allen Thompson

James Allen Thompson, 82, of Lexington, passed away December 26, 2022, at Davidson Health and Rehab of Lexington.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date by his family.

Mr. Thompson was born September 7, 1940, in Lee County, to Allen Sanford Thompson and Susie Kate Wicker Thompson. James was a devoted member of Center Church of Welcome, retired from Fletcher Machine.  He loved to work in his yard, go hunting and fishing, but his passion was his faith, church, family and especially his grandson, James was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, brother, who will be missed by all. In addition to his parents, he is preceded by his brothers, William “Bill” and Bobby Thompson.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of 54 years of the home, Racie Darlene Thomason Thompson, his daughter, Lori “Cricket” Berrier and husband Kevin of Midway; brothers David Thompson and wife Kathy, Clyde Thompson both of Lexington; his sister Betty, and his grandson, Chase Berrier and girlfriend, Rebecca Woliver, and his two close friends who were like brothers, Claude Bates, and Garry Cantrell, and a cousin who was like a brother, Warren (Buck) Brown.
