James Thomas “Tommy” Kirk, 68 of Highway 47, Lexington died Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at his home after an illness of 1 year.
Mr. Kirk was born January 6, 1938 in Davidson County to Roy Lee Kirk and Mary McCarn Kirk. A retired employee of PPG Industries, he served in the US Navy. He was a Life member of National Guard Association and served 29 years in the military service. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are his wife Joyce Story Kirk of the home; son James Stacy Kirk and wife Laura of Cherryville, NC; daughters Selena Perry of King, NC, Pamela Sowers and husband Ronnie of Gastonia, NC; grandchildren James Bradley Huffman and wife Jennie of Asheboro; Jamie Rominger and husband Keith of Winston-Salem; Jeremy King and wife Debbie of Lexington; Christian Kirk, Casey Kirk both of Cherryville, NC and Cory Kirk of Gibsonville, NC; six great-grandchildren; brothers Bobby Lee Kirk and Gary Wayne Kirk both of Lexington, and a sister Pat Wood and husband, Dostor of Lexington.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with military graveside rites. Rev Dan Walser will be conducting the service.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
