James "Whitey" Whitehead

James “Whitey” Whitehead, age 76 of Broadview Avenue Lexington passed away Wednesday morning August 28, 2019 at Lexington Health Care.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Forest Hill Memorial Park with Rev. David Langley officiating. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 12:30 until 1:30 prior to the service.

James was born in Blount County, TN on November 29, 1942 to Charles William Whitehead and Susie Martin Whitehead. He was a veteran of the US Air Force and worked in the used auto parts and metal business. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Hazel Clounch Whitehead, and a sister, Barbara Harrison.

Surviving are his sister, Martha Spangler, of Lexington; nieces, Dameatrice Swing and Pateama Killian both of Lexington; several great- and great-great nieces and nephews; cousin, Patricia Burton of Lexington and a step-daughter, Vivian Sawyer of Lexington.

The family would like to thank all of his card playing friends for their love and concern during his sickness and also the staff of Lexington Health Care for their care to him.
