Jane Leonard

Mary Jane Comer Leonard, age 80, of Southmont passed away Tuesday, December 05, 2017 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Scott Slaughter and Danny Leonard officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.   The family will receive friends from 12:45 to 1:45 pm prior to the service at the Church.   Mrs. Leonard was born in Davidson County on December 18, 1936 to Floyd Comer and Stella Jarvis Comer. She was a retired machinist, having worked for Proctor Schwartz, and a member of Coggins Memorial Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Garland Palmer Leonard; two brothers, Richard Comer and Billy Comer; and a sister, Lenora Clark.   Surviving are her loving sons, Wayne Leonard (Anne) of Bowling Green, KY and Randy Leonard of Lexington; her brother, Steven Comer (Shirley) of Southmont; sisters, Betty Cashwell (Gene) of High Point, and Donese McBride (Sam) of Lexington; brother in law, Herbert Clark; sister in law, Voncille Comer; four grandchildren, Amanda, Jeff, Staci, and Cody; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, John Paul, and Luke.   Memorials may be directed to Coggins Memorial Baptist Church at 1306 S. Main St. Lexington, NC 27292.
