Brenda “Jane” Simpson Tetter, 78, a resident of Lexington, passed away, Friday, September 17, 2021 at her residence. Jane was born on January 11, 1943 in Rowan County to the late Louise and JB Simpson. She graduated from East Rowan High School. Jane married the love of her life, David Anderson Tetter, on May 4, 1968. She retired from Davidson County Community College, where she was employed after graduating with her Associates of Accounting at the age of 62. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was also a faithful servant to her Lord. She was a member of Yadkin Baptist Church in Spencer for over 40 years. While there, she played the piano, and sang. She also taught the Youth Group, Sunday school, and Vacation Bible School. Jane is preceded in death by her parents.
A funeral will be conducted at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to the church, 150 Yadkin Baptist Church Rd, Salisbury, NC 28144.
Jane is survived by her husband of 53 years, David Tetter of the home; daughters, Lisa Miller (Johnny) of Lexington, Tonya Smith (Dean) of Jonesville, and Kari Wilson of Lexington; sisters, Sara Turman and Patty Honeycutt (Don) all of Salisbury; grandchildren, Danielle Pruett (Josh), Patrick Miller, Anderson Wilson (Abigail Cooper), Dawson Smith, Anna Wilson, Lora Wilson, and Emma Smith; great-grandchildren, Kenzly and Slaten Pruett; and three nieces.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County and their nurse Melissa with all their heart for the care they gave to Jane.
