Jane Penny Williams

June 6, 1947 — December 8, 2008

Jane “Penny” Williams went to be with her son, Roger Brantley Williams, Jr., her mother and the Lord on Monday, December 8, 2008.    A graveside service will be at 10:00 am Monday (12-15-2008) at Forest Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, with Dr. Lee Zehmer and Dr. Jim Martin officiating.   Mrs. Williams was born to Clifton and Elizabeth Leonard on June 6, 1947 in Davidson County.  Penny was a wonderful wife to her husband Roger Williams for 44 years.  Penny Williams was a sweet and caring person.  Willing to do anything for anyone.  She was totally involved in everything she took interest in.  She was a member for over ten years of the Hot Springs Area Quilt Guild and was the current sunshine committee.   She had also served as treasurer.  She was on several committees for the Quiltfest quilt show coming in July 2009.  She made many quilts and donated to Barbs Heavenly Hands, Potters Clay and Vera Lloyd Children’s Home. As a member of the Hot Springs of Arkansas chapter of National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, she served as the current Historian.  She was also in the chapter’s stitches group who make lap robes for the veterans. Penny had a host of friends and will be truly missed. She was predeceased by her son, Roger Brantley Williams, Jr. and her mother, Elizabeth “Lib” Huband Leonard.   In addition to her husband she is survived by her father, Cliff Leonard, Sr., of Lexington, one brother, Cliff Leonard, Jr., of New York; three children, Melissa Tellez of Nashville, Tennessee, Colby Williams of Russellville, AR. and Mike Williams of Hot Springs, AR.  Jane “Penny” was a proud mother and grandmother, seven grandkids, five boys and two girls.    Her passion second to her family was her love of sewing and quilting.   Condolences may be made at www.davidsonfuneralhome.net
