Janet Elaine Cooper

Janet Brandenburg Cooper, age 70, died January 7th, 2022, after a long struggle with genetic renal failure and other medical complications.

She was the fourth child of George Irvin and Jean Schipani Brandenburg and is predeceased by her parents, sister Marilyn B. Jones and brother Daryl Brandenburg. Janet now watches over her husband of 50+ years, D. Jeff Cooper Sr., her two sons, Dennis J. Cooper Jr. (Jennifer) and Cory B. Cooper (Amanda), and grandchildren: Wyatt, Camryn, Izzy, and George, as well as her oldest sister, Nancy Kuhn and family of Memphis, TN.

Janet was a loving and fiercely loyal spouse and companion who will be greatly missed by her loved ones, leaving behind family and friends across the country. Janet almost grew up in Memphis, TN where she married her high school sweetheart, followed him to Germany, back to Memphis, then to Texas before settling in Lexington, NC for the past 34 years.

She had a quick wit and ready laugh for anyone rich enough to pay attention. Due to the current pandemic situation, the family has decided to hold a celebration of life later this spring.
