Janet Dunning

Janet Faye Goodwin Dunning, 68, a resident of Lexington, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Hinkle Hospice Home in Lexington. Janet was born in Rowan County to the late Woodie France and Mary Nannie Goodwin on August 2, 1954. She worked for Goodwill for several years. Janet was a loving mother, wife, sister, and friend who enjoyed working puzzles, coloring, watching her windmills, and owls. She also enjoyed writing and had recently written a biography of her life. Janet was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 14, 2023 at 11:00 AM in New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Sam Mills officiating. There will not be a formal visitation. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to New Hope Baptist Church, 830 Choate Road, Salisbury, NC 28146. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.

Janet is survived by her husband of 40 years, William “Bill” Dunning, of the home; her son, Brandon Paul Dunning, of Lexington; sisters, Doris Goodwin Shepherd of Salisbury, and Charlotte Goodwin Kroblock of Irmo, SC; and two sisters-in-law, Pam Lawndale and Teresa Owens (Don) both of Lexington.
