Janet Bumgardner Goss

Janet Raye Bumgardner Goss, 80, of Riverview Road in Linwood, passed away Friday February 11, 2022 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington.

Janet was born June 2, 1941 in Davidson County to Ray Bumgardner and Pearl Kinney Bumgardner. She was a member of Christ Chapel, formerly employed with Lexcom Telephone for 49 years and 8 months. Janet loved volunteering her time and her talents with Tarheel Chapter ITPA, Davidson Medical Ministries, Lexington Chamber of Commerce Lexington Memorial Hospital Foundation and anywhere else the opportunity arose. . She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Helen Shaw.

Surviving is her husband, Marshall Nathaniel “Nat” Goss Jr. of the home; two sons, Mark Goss (Sherri) and Kelly Goss; one brother, Sherrill Bumgardner, of Lexington; one sister Jean “Honey” Gay (Walter) of Virginia; 5 grandchildren, Marshall Goss IV (Katie), Amanda Brokaw (Mike), Zack Goss, Ethan Goss and Mollie Goss; and 9 great-grandchildren.

The family will remember and celebrate her life privately, per her request. Whenever an opportunity arises to help another, please do so in remembrance of Janet.
