Janet Hart Olszeski

January 5, 1939 — December 29, 2023

Janet Patricia Olszeski passed away on 12/29/2023.

She was born on January 5, 1939, to parents Martin C. Hart and Margaret Hart (Pavkovic).  Her father died of an illness when she was young and her mother worked hard to raise her and her 2 siblings with a strong Christian faith. Her sister Mary Ann Wallo who lives in East Cleveland and her brother Martin who is deceased.

She met and married William Edward Olszeski in 1957. They lived a busy life raising their 7 children primarily in the Kamm’s Corner area of the West side of Cleveland, Ohio. The place we all call “home”.

After all but the last of the children moved out of the nest, Bill and Pat decided to move to the Atlanta, Georgia area where Bill had family and where they had taken the family on many summer adventures.  They settled and lived in Fayetteville, Georgia for many years.  2 of their children followed and raised their families in the Atlanta area as well. So they were never without large family gatherings taking place. The wonderfully fun grandparents they were and still are.  Family was the focus of Janet’s life.

They moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina in 2000 to be with a number of their children and 23 years in the North Carolina sunshine then led them to call Winston-Salem home.

Surprisingly to all of us, Mom developed a love of watercolor painting in her last few years. We have all been gifted and will cherish a piece or 2 of each of our parents' artwork.

She always had a strong faith in the grace and love of her Heavenly Father. She felt and stated strongly in the end that she would know when He was calling her to her “real home” and she did not waver. We can only imagine the glow of happiness on her smiling face as she gets to greet the many people who have preceded her to their resting place.  Her children all have fond memories of her and are ever so grateful for the loving mother she was. She certainly did her best to teach us all well. She was loved by many.

After 66 years of a committed marriage, William and Janet have an incredible legacy to be proud of:

7 children:

William and wife Laura and their 3 children.

Linda and husband Doug Zambo and their 3 children.

Kim Brown and her 4 children.

Karen and husband Paul Wulf and their 2 children.

Mark and wife Joyce and their 3 children.

David who died at age 11.

Patricia and her 2 children.

17 Grandchildren

And

27 Great Grandchildren

Mom was always very grateful for the care she received and the family would like to thank the numerous people that showed such compassion in the caretaking of Janet.
