Janet Thompson

Janet Gail Wilson Thompson, 83, a resident of Lexington, passed away Monday, September 13, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Lexington Medical Center. Janet was born in Yancey County on November 25, 1937 to the late Rolly and Mary Elizabeth Wilson. She retired from Reynolds America after many years of service. Janet loved her family immensely, they meant everything to her. She attended Remade Church, formerly Lexington Community Church.

A private graveside service will be held for family only. In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to Pastor’s Pantry, 307 N. State Street, Lexington, NC 27292, and/or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington is assisting the family.

Janet is survived by her children, Dana Hedrick (Deane) of Lexington and Ashley Hammond (Kevin) of Hendersonville; a brother, Larry “Dale” Wilson (Carol) of Lexington; grandchildren, Tiffany Manning (Rick), Torey Owens (Chris), Logan Hammond (Renee), and Grayson Hammond (Allie); great-grandchildren, Kenley and Emersyn Owens, and Raleigh, Everest, and Zion Hammond. Janet also leaves behind many wonderful friends, Linda, Wanda, and Jane. She leaves her shopping benches to them.
