Janett Mills Cope, age 82 of Pine Top Road, Lexington died peacefully surrounded by her family Friday evening June 3, 2016 at Hinkle Hospice House. When peace like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well with my soul.
A private service will be held at a later date, however the family will receive friends at the Cope homeplace on Pine Top Road from 2 until 5 pm Sunday, June 5, 2016.
Janett was born in Davidson County, March 14, 1934. Mom attended Lifepoint Church and had a very special friendship with her pastor, Byron Barker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Pearl Craver; husband of 60 years, Joe Perry Cope and sister, Doris Harvell.
Surviving are her sons, Michael Perry Cope (Susan) and Joseph Scott Cope (Kaffee) granddaughters, Courtney Cope, Holly Cope Blair, Aimee Cope Harvey and Allison Cope Huff; great-grandchildren, Jadyn McLain, Noah Harvey, Ian Harvey, Corbin Blair, Carson Blair and Emerson Huff; sister, Frances Thomason; brother, Jimbo Craver.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Kitty Presnell and Pat Williams for loving and taking such good care of Mom. Also to Janet, Connie and Jamie of Piedmont Home Care, she loved you all.
