Janice Lunsford Blanton, 79, of Cow Palace Road, died Sunday July 14, 2019 at Alston Brook Rehabilitation Center in Lexington.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Second Reformed United Church of Christ, where she was a member, with Rev. Paula Wells and Rev. Jim Luck conducting services.
Burial will follow at the Lexington City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Blanton was born January 17, 1940 in Forsyth County to Roy Edgar Lunsford and Hazel Constance Wilkes John. She retired from The Lexington City School System in 2000, was an alumni of the Junior Order Home and was service unit manager for 10 years for The Girls Scouts of America She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Alton Ray Blanton; and a sister Ruth Craver.
Surviving is a son, Mark Blanton of Lexington; three daughters, Connie Williams (Terry) , Saundra Moorefield (Eddie) and Kathryn Thompson (Tommy) all of Lexington; two sisters, Patricia Thomas of Longs South Carolina and Mary Jo Tilley (Billy) of Pinnacle NC; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
