Janice Lea Pauley McKeel, age 77 of Winston-salem, North Carolina, formerly of South Charleston, West Virginia, passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center after a short illness.
Janice was born in South Charleston, West Virginia on January 11, 1939 to Hubert Raymond Pauley and Mary Ellen Bennett Pauley. She retired from Stone and Thomas in 1999 after 37 years of service. Janice went on to work as a Deputy Clerk for the Municipal Court of Charleston, West Virginia, where she retired in 2004 and moved to North Carolina.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents; husband Cliff McKeel; sisters, Shelvey Domingue and Norita Pauley; brothers, Hubert Raymond Pauley, Jr. and Jahue Pauley.
She is survived by her loving daughters, Michelle Winter (Dennis) of Lexington, NC and Christine Boone (Pat) of Saint Albans; WV; her two granddaughters; Kaitlyn and MaKayla Winter, whom she loved dearly; a sister Evelyn Kinnison and a brother, Bill Pauley (Patsy) all of South Charleston, WV. Janice is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Oak Forest United Methodist Church where she was a member with Rev. Darren Alexander and Rev. J. Dwight Cartner officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 pm prior to the service. A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, April 15, 2016 at the Mausoleum of Graceland Memorial Park in Charleston, WV, with Rev. Larry McAllister, Sr. officiating. Entombment will follow.
Memorials may be made to Oak Forest United Methodist Church Building Fund, 11461 Old US Highway 52, Winston-Salem, NC 27107 in lieu of flowers.
