Janie Mize Hartman

Janie Mize Hartman, 68, of Marshall Byerly Road, died Monday, March 03, 2008, at Forsyth Medical Center. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Friendship United Methodist Church, where she was a member, by the Rev. Carroll Lupton. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Hartman was born May 20, 1939, in Davidson County, to Hebert Walser Mize and Emma Johnson Mize. She was retired secretary from McLean Trucking Company. She was a member of the Friendship United Methodist Women, teacher of the Helping Hands Sunday school class, pianist and organist, at her church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Jay Mize and sister, Elese Mize Regan. Surviving are her husband, Alfred “Al” Pleasant Hartman of the home; son, Greg Gobble and wife, Jodie, of Lexington; daughters, Andrea Stewart and husband, Steve, of Lexington, and Lisa Gobble Brown of Advance; and five grandchildren, Lauren Gobble, Katie Brown, Kellie Brown, Wesley Stewart and Fallon Stewart. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to Friendship United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 2840 Friendship Church Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
