Jasper Earl Nifong, Jr

Mr. Jasper Earl Nifong, Jr., 88, of Hickory Tree Road, passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026. Born on March 19, 1938, in Forsyth County to the late Earl and Zona Nifong, Jasper lived a long and full life rooted in family, hard work, and the simple joys he loved most.

Jasper found his greatest happiness outdoors—whether riding his tractor, tending to his yard, or spending quiet mornings hunting and fishing. He was a proud and loyal fan of the Duke Blue Devils, cheering them on with enthusiasm throughout the years. Jasper also faithfully served his country in the National Guard, a commitment he carried with honor.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia Jo Nifong.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, Earl Dodd Nifong; and his grandchildren Forrest Nifong (Ellen), Ryan Nifong (Mariah), and Belle Allred (Jerry). Each of them carries forward the love, steadiness, and quiet strength he shared so generously.

A funeral service honoring Jasper’s life will be held on Wednesday, March 25th at 11:00 AM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel, located at 858 Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. A committal service will follow at Triad Journey Church (formerly Hebron UCC). The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 24th, from 6–8 PM at the funeral home.
