Allie Jean Loman Cartrette, age 69, of Prevette Road passed away Friday evening at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, after an illness of 6 months. A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday 3-20-2012 at Gethsemane Baptist Temple, where she was a member, conducted by Rev. Larry Michael. Burial will be in Forest Hill Memorial Park.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Monday at Davidson Funeral Home, and other times at the residence.
Jean was born February 21, 1943 in Thomasville, to Ollie Esther Loman and Margaret Byerly Loman. After her father’s death, when Jean was a child, her mother, married Nobe Cook who raised her. She was retired from Parkdale Mills. She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father, a son, Auburn Cartrette Jr., a daughter, Angela Jeanette Cartrette, two brothers, Junior Cook, and Bill Cook and, an infant sister.
She is survived by: her husband Auburn Cartrette of the home; two sons, Christopher Cartrette and wife Belinda, and Aubrey Kim Cartrette all of Lexington; two daughters, Kaye Cartrette Watts and partner Paul Hedrick of High Point, and Donna Cartrette Morris and partner Robbie Harrison of Lexington; fifteen grandchildren, Jamie Wertz, Kristen Wertz, Joshua Cartrette, Christine Cartrette, Charles Black, Sylvia Black, Christopher Zemore Cartrette , Zyanna Cartrette, Kimberly Cartrette, Eric Cartrette, Daniel Cartrette, David Morris, Steven Morris, Daphne Morris, and Dylan Harrison; twelve great-grandchildren; two brothers, Richard “Bud” Loman and wife Judy of Salisbury, John Cook of Lexington and two sisters, Mildred Edmonds and husband John Wayne, and Debbie Hall and husband Danny all of Lexington.
