Jean Don “J.D.” Fowler, 73, of Queens Drive, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at Lexington Memorial Hospital, following an illness of five years.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011, at First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where he was a member, with the Rev. Wayne Knight officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home and other times at the home.
Mr. Fowler was born August 30, 1937, in McDowell County, W.Va., to Fred Fowler and Lonie Hash Fowler. He was an avid golfer and self employed convenience store owner.
Surviving are his sons, Gene Fowler and wife, Lisa, and Chris Fowler and wife, Janie, all of Lexington; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, James Fowler of Lexington; and sisters, Christine Fowler, Mary Sue Fowler and husband, George, all of Lexington, and Juanita Dillon of W. Va.
