Jean Gordon Lewinger, 67, of GrayBrier Nursing Home, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the nursing home following an extended illness.
A memorial service will be 4 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tim Butcher officiating. Inurnment will follow in New Friendship United Church of Christ Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service from 3 to 4 p.m. and other times at the home of her daughter, Andrea Isley on Peace Forrest Lane, Climax, NC.
Mrs. Lewinger was born in Brooklyn County, on October 30, 1946, to Donald Gordon and Grace Mowat Gordon. She was a member of New Friendship UCC and retired from Brenners Children’s Hospital. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Anthony Lewinger; and brother, Donald Gordon.
Surviving are son, William Lewinger of England; daughter, Andrea Isley and husband, Derrick of Climax; grandson, Derrick Isley; and sisters, Peggy Watson, Heather Beemer and husband, Wayne, both of Ohio, and Janet Kardos and husband, Jim, of New York.
