Jean Sink Rodden, 80, of West Old U.S. Highway 64, Lexington, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, at Alston Brook Nursing Home after two months of declining health.
Funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Reeds United Methodist Church by the Rev. Gary B. Foster. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Rodden was born June 19, 1927, in Davidson County to Arlie Webster Sink and Annie Fritts Sink. She was a retired employee of Dacotah Mills and a member of Reeds United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and a graduate of Ashemore Business College. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruby Griggs, Martha Hartley and Linda King.
Surviving are her husband, John Patterson Rodden of the home; one son, Gary Rodden and his wife, Karen, of Charlotte; two daughters, Lynne Freeman and her husband, Jimmy, of Lexington and Cindy Smith and her husband, Wayne, of Churchland; four grandchildren, Amanda Easter, Kim Lohr and her husband, Jay, Neal Smith and his fiancée, Kristin Stovenour, all of Lexington, and Adam Smith and special friend Keri Causey of Churchland; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Easter, Andrew Easter, Gray Lohr and Sophie Lohr, all of Lexington; and one brother, Dale Sink and his wife, Lucy, of Lexington.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel and at other times they will be at the home on West Old U.S. Highway 64.
