Jeanette Jones

August 27, 1936 — May 10, 2020

Marjorie Jeanette Shoaf Jones went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2020 after being lovingly cared for by her devoted husband Billy.

She was born August 27, 1936 in Lexington, NC and grew up on a farm as the youngest of 8 children to Wiley Lee and Margie Yarbrough Shoaf. She worked for and retired from Davidson County Community College where she worked in data processing. She was a compassionate and patient mother to her three boys Hoy, Kevin, and Phil. She loved her boys deeply and profoundly and taught them to respect others, never give up, and to be confident but humble.  Besides spending time with her family, Jeanette loved crafting and making sweets to brighten other people’s days. She was a woman with strong faith, who prayed daily to enrich her relationship with God. She was a long member of Paul’s Chapel in Lexington, NC, where she served on several committees.

She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. Her legacy will remain in the minds and hearts of those she loved.

Jeanette will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, William “Bill” Withers Jones; her brother Jimmy Shoaf (Sandra); and her children Hoy (Gwen), Kevin, and Phil (Kim). Jeanette will also fondly be remembered by her grandchildren, Stacey (Ben), Emily (Casey) Josh, Faith, Sarah, Stephen (Rilee), and Samuel; and her great grandchildren Lana, Hartley, and Josiah.

A Small family graveside service will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be directed to Paul’s Chapel, 2791 W. Center St. Lexington, NC 27292 or The Good Samaritan Foundation, 2954 Hwy 74 West, Wadesboro, NC 28170.
