Jeanette Wilson

Jeanette Brown Wilson 74, of Primrose Drive Extension, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at the Hospice Home in High Point. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Berea Bible Class. The Rev. Frankie Matthews will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Wilson was born Sept. 29, 1934, in Davidson County to Harvey Brown and Hida Yarbrough Brown Benfield. She was a member of the Daughters of the Confederacy and a founder and charter member of the Genealogy Society, where she held an office for 18 years. She originated genealogy classes at the Davidson County Library to share her love and knowledge with others. Mrs. Wilson was a graduate of Davidson County Community College with a degree in paralegal. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Buddy Brown. Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Raymond "Doc" Henry Wilson; two daughters, Raymonette Workman and her husband, Tony, of Denton and Suzie Brinkley and her husband, Gary, of Lexington; her father, Bill Benfield; two sisters Linda Surratt and her husband, Jerry, and Ada Lara, both of Lexington; four grandchildren, Danette Sexton, Adam Workman and his wife, Jessica, Austin Workman, all of Denton, and Lynnette Goins and her husband, Marty, of Lexington; great-grandchildren Amber Goins, Chase Goins, both of Lexington, and Sierra Workman of Denton; and a sister-in-law, Rita Brown of Lexington. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, and at other times at the home on Primrose Drive Extension. Memorials may be directed to the Davidson County Library, Genealogy Department, 602 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hospice Home of High Point and to Mt. Vista Nursing home for all their love and care.
