Jamestown NC - Jeffery Bryce Shytle, 65, of Jamestown NC passed away peacefully on July 15th after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born in Lexington NC he was predeceased by his mother, Rachel Fritts Shytle. Jeff is survived by his wife Susan McAllister, brother Tom and wife Beverly of Myrtle Beach SC, sons Drew Shytle of Winston Salem, Neil Shytle and wife Brittany of Winston Salem, stepson Grey McAllister of Winston Salem, and adored grandsons Tyler Shytle, Drake Shytle. A born salesman, Jeff enjoyed a long career in construction/abrasive sales, and consulting before retiring from AirGas in early 2020 Jeff was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast who enjoyed a lifelong love of baseball now shared by both his grandsons. Jeff cherished his family and friends whose love, support, prayers, and encouragement sustained him throughout his illness. With a smile that could light up a room and a sense of humor to match, the stories and memories of his larger than life personality will live on – we thank him for the gifts he left behind, the nicknames, the one liners, and especially the laughs. We are eternally thankful and wish to convey our gratitude to Dr Dan George, Jeff's remarkable doctor, and his team at Duke Cancer Institute for their compassion, dedication and decade long care. Per Jeff's wishes no memorial service is planned, he requested instead for all to remember him with a random act of kindness, and if so inclined a donation to Duke Cancer Institute/Prostrate & Urologic Cancers @dukecancerinstitute.org
