Jeffrey Lee Smith, age 51 of Winston Salem passed away Tuesday night at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston Salem.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Saturday in the Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel conducted by Revs. Frankie Matthews and Jack Morris. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 Friday and at other times at the home.
Jeff was born in Davidson County December 17, 1961 to Davy Lee and Mary Alice Penelope “Penny” Smith. He was a lifelong member of Sheets Memorial Baptist Church; he was a charter member of Davidson County Paramedic Association. Jeff served the citizens of Davidson County for more than 30 years, beginning as an EMT at the age of 20 and retiring recently as Director of Emergency Services.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Laura Long Smith of the home; sons, Colton Wesley Smith and Clinton Logan Smith of the home; parents, Davy Lee and Penny Smith of Lexington; brother, Bryan Smith (Debbie) and family of Lexington; father and mother in law, Frank and Ann Long of Lewisville; nephew, Mason Rob-Owen Wedel of Lexington; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and two very special friends, Brandi Moore and Josh Leonard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to Sheets Memorial Baptist Church, Mission Fund, 210 Cotton Grove Road, Lexington, NC 27292.
