Jeffrey Wayne Payne

Jeffrey Wayne Payne, 64, of Lexington, passed away peacefully at his home on November 12, 2025. He was born on May 9, 1961, in Davie County, North Carolina, to the late Johnny William Payne Jr. and Reva Howard Pennington.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at Madison Heights Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor David Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00, Wednesday.

Jeff dedicated much of his career to Churchland Elementary School, where his hard work, kindness, and steady presence touched the lives of many students and staff. He will be remembered for his quiet strength and his deep love for family.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 32 years, Susan Wilson Payne, sons, Bryan Payne and Dylan Payne; his mother, Reva Howard Pennington, his brother, Mark Payne (Sherry); his sister, Shelia Henquinet (Curtis); his nephew, Christopher; and several other nieces and nephews who adored him.

Jeff was a dedicated husband, father, and a faithful steward of Christ whose warmth, loyalty, and love for those closest to him will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Madison Freewill Baptist Church in Jeff's honor.
