Jennie Berrier, 88, of Brian Center Nursing Home, formerly of West Sixth Street, died Saturday, March 18, 2006.
Miss Berrier was born March 15, 1918, in Davidson County, to Latta Hurdle Berrier and Bannie Elizabeth Everhart Berrier. She was a member of First Reformed United Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and as superintendent of the youth department. She was a member of the Willing Workers Sunday school class and a member of the Friendship Club at her church. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Margie Berrier; and three brothers, Ray Berrier, Clarence "Gator" Berrier and Bryce Berrier.
Surviving are her brothers, Walter L. Berrier and wife Bobbie of Arcadia and Donald L. Berrier and wife Clatie and Samuel W. Berrier and wife Janice, all of Lexington; sisters Julia Clodfelter and husband Boyd and Deanna Michael-Beck and husband Don, all of Lexington; sister-in-law Mary B. Berrier of Lexington; and a large number of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved as if they were her own children. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday, March 20, at Davidson Funeral Home in Lexington and other times at the home on West Sixth Street. Memorials may be made to First Reformed United Church of Christ, 104 E. Center St., Lexington, NC 27292.
