Jennie Hartley Nifong

Jennie Hartley Nifong, 84, of Welcome completed her life’s journey on Sunday November 5, 2017 at Thomasville Medical Center. A private inurnment will be held at a later date. Jennie was born on October 6, 1933 the daughter of Harvey James Hartley and Jennie Myers Hartley. She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and was a retired School Bus Driver from The Davidson County Schools. In addition she was a board member of The Welcome Volunteer Fire Department. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Wayne Nifong; She is survived by three children, Timothy Wayne Nifong and wife Linda of Walkertown, Ted Nifong and wife Kimberly of Lexington and Felicia Nifong Wright and husband Randy of Lexington; grandchildren, Crystal Swink and husband Derrick, Joe Nifong and wife Katie, Megan Wilson and husband Kyle, Justin Nifong and wife Valarie, Lexi Fulk, Christian Nifong, Taran Spirakus and Zack, Tatum Pope and husband Brent and Kayla Opengari and husband Mike; 12  great-grandchildren, Ethan, Emma, Grace, Noah, Lyla, Cora, Hanauer,  Haden, Kellen, Wesson, Tucker, and Ty; sister Carol Coldfelter and husband Wayne of Winston-Salem and a goddaughter, Julie Beck. The family requests that memorials be directed to ALS, Carolina Chapter, 6512 Six Forks Road, Suite 602-A, Raleigh, NC 27615.   Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel is assisting the family.
