Jerry Thomas Darnell

Jerry Thomas Darnell, 71, of Pope Street, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. A funeral Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2012, at Davidson Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Wayne Tuttle and Wayne Sechrest officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday, December 12, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home. Mr. Darnell was born July 7, 1941, in Davidson County, to Garthard William Darnell and Frances Davis Darnell. He was a retired machine operator from Kurz Transfer Products. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Darnell and sister-in-law, Barbara. Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Crotts Darnell of the home; sons, Tim Darnell and wife, Tina, David Darnell and companion, Ashleigh, Gregory Scott Darnell, all of Lexington, and Michael Darnell and wife, Shawna, of Advance; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Danny David Darnell and wife, Sylvia, of Lexington; and sister, Frankie Powell and husband, Bobby, of Lexington.
