Jerry Mock Dorsett Sr., 69, of Hemstead Street, died Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, following a one month illness.
Memorial Service will be 7 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013, at Clearview Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Greene officiating. Burial will be in the Lexington City Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday at Clearview Baptist Church, and other times at the home.
Mr. Dorsett was born March 18, 1944, in Davidson County, to Jesse Mock Dorsett and Clattie Mae Crotts Dorsett. He was owner/operator of Dorsett Lock and Key. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Mock Dorsett Jr.; brothers, Tommy Dorsett, Willie Dorsett and Royce Monroe Dorsett; and sister, Rosaline Byerly.
Surviving are his loving wife, Betty Everhart Dorsett of the home; son, Aaron Dorsett of the home; daughter, Mandy Beck and husband David of Lexington; two grandchildren, Madison Beck and Kyndall Beck; and brother, Jimmy Dorsett of Lexington.
