Jerry Lynn Hedrick, age 67 of Westdale Avenue, Lexington passed away suddenly in Charlotte while attending the American Legion National Convention.
Funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday at Coggins Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Myra Ward, Rev. Jim Groome and Mr. Jake comer officiating. Burial with military honors by Rowan County Honor Guard will be 10:00 am Friday at Salisbury National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Davidson Funeral Home, Lexington from 5:00 until 8:00 pm Wednesday.
Jerry was born in Davidson County, November 21, 1946, to Mildred Estelle Hedrick. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and served as a Trustee and other committees in the church over the years. He was a Mason and member of Lexington Memorial Lodge 696. He was a veteran of the US Army; a member of VFW Post 3074, Amvets Post 13 and American Legion Post 8. Jerry was presently serving as National Executive Committee Man with the American Legion; he had served many positions in the American Legion both local and national; such as Post Commander, State Commander and many committees for the National American Legion.
Jerry is survived by his wife Marie Bolin Hedrick of the home; sister, Sarah Styers (Don) of Lexington; nephews, Dr. Edwin Lynn Styers and Dr. Christopher Styers; great-niece, Ava Faith Styers; twin great-niece and nephew, Kaylee and Caleb Lingle; his extended family of Marie and The American Legion.
